Error: “File is already in use. Would you like to open it anyway”
This error comes up when you try to complete an audio file after transcribing.
Things to try:
A. Make sure that you have full access to the network folder.
B. Change your Quikscribe Player’s Completed and Reports folders to the Local Drive’s directory.
1. Click Settings from the Quikscribe Player.
2. Go to Settings tab.
3. Change your Completed file location to the C drive’s directory. In order to change it, click the folder icon and Browse to your local directory and select the folder. The folder is in the C:\QsFiles parent directory.
4. Change your Reports file location to the C drive’s directory. In order to change it, click the folder icon and Browse to your local directory and select the folder. The folder is in the C:\QsFiles parent directory.
5. Click OK.
C. Update your Quikscribe Player’s Preferences.
1. Open Quikscribe Player. Click Settings.
2. Go to Preferences tab.
3. Tick the box to put a check mark next to “Copy file then Open File (for slow networks)”.
4. Tick the box to put a check mark next to “Rename Locked Files”.
5. Click OK.
D. Add Quikscribe installation files to your Security Software’s or Anti-Virus Program’s Excluded list.
