This is an example to extract typist time from May 3, 2014 to May 9, 2014 using Quikscribe Manager.

Follow the steps below to build the database.

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Select Build Database.
  3. Select Match all of the following.
  4. In first entry of the Search criteria:
    • Select Date Completed in the first pull down box.
    • Select Is After in the second pull down box.
    • Select May 3, 2014 for the date.
  5. Click the More button.
  6. In second entry of the Search criteria:
    • Select Date Completed in the first pull down box.
    • Select Is Before in the second pull down box.
    • Select May 9, 2014 for the date.
  7. Click the button Create Database.
  8. In the Browse For Folder panel browse to the Reports folder in the QsFiles folder on your network drive.  Make sure Reports is highlighted.
  9. Click OK.
  10. In the Set DataBase Name panel enter a name for the Database.  Enter the name in the File name field.  Do not save the file in another folder.  Leave the Database file in the folder C:\ProgramData\QuikscribeManager.
  11. Click Save.

Follow the steps below to create the report, which will be in an Excel spreadsheet.

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Select Export Reports.
  3. In the top left box you will see a list of files created by the Build Database feature where you selected the search criteria.
  4. Select the output file created from the Build Database step.
  5. The criteria used to create the database file are displayed in the bottom left box.
  6. The number of dictation report files matching the selection criteria is displayed.  This number should match the lines of data in the Excel spreadsheet.
  7. In the bottom right box select the desired output fields to include for export to the Excel spreadsheet.
  8. Perhaps start with the following fields.  Include or exclude fields in subsequent reports.  (You may need to add names to the Authors’ and Typists’ profiles.  You may add the names using Quikscribe Manager.
    • Audio Duration
    • Author First Name
    • Author Surname
    • Date Completed
    • Date Sent
    • Doc Name
    • Doc Type
    • Player Billable Time
    • Subject
    • Typist First Name
    • Typist Sirname
  9. Click the Export button to generate the report.  The results will be sent to an Excel spreadsheet.  Wait a few minutes for the spreadsheet to fill in the results.
  10. In the Excel spreadsheet you will need to format the date fields, Date Sent and Date Completed, to display them properly.  Audio Duration and Billable Time fields are calculated in seconds.  Divide by 60 to display as minutes.
