Foot Pedal Won’t Function

Always check USB connection to PC.  Make sure foot pedal is securely connected to PC. 1. Go to Help. 2. Select License Info. 3. Attached hardware should note your footswitch. 4. Click Quikscribe Settings or click File then select System Settings. 5. Click Preferences, and change the Comm Port setting to USB.  Close and re-open Quikscribe Player.  Try your foot pedal. 6. Click Quikscribe Settings; you will be at Settings tab.  Set Default Folder to C:\QsFiles\Default or to Windows User Path.  Close and re-open Quikscribe Player. Try your foot pedal. 7. Attach your foot pedal to a different USB port.  Close and re-open Quikscribe Player.  Try your foot pedal. 8. Select Help and Play Tutorial.  Go to the end of the Tutorial and Complete it.  Close and re-open Quikscribe Player.  Try your foot pedal. 9. File Monitor Notification is Incorrect

An incorrect notification may be caused by a locked file.  Go to the category Check for Locked File for information about checking for a locked file. If no locked files display in Quikscribe Player, close Quikscribe Player.  Browse in windows to the folder or folders to which files are sent.  Delete any files from those folders that do not need to be transcribed.  The files may have an extension such as .tmp or .bak. In addition, right click the File Monitor icon and shutdown the File Monitor.  Close Quikscribe Player.  Wait a few minutes and restart Quikscribe Player. …

File Notification Not Working

The most common reason is that the QSP_Filemon.exe application for notification is being blocked by your computer's anti-virus or security software. We suggest that you contact your IT person to put the Quikscribe folder (in the Program files) in the excluded or exception list. This will let your anti-virus/security software skip the Quikscribe files/applications when it does a computer scan. AVG Internet Security Click on the AVG icon from your system tray. Go to Options, and click Advanced Settings. Click Exceptions. Click Add Exception button. In the Select Exception Type menu, select Folder. Click Browse. Select the Quikscribe Folder (located C:\Program Files (x86)\Quikscribe or C:\Program Files\Quikscribe). Click Ok. Then OK again. Click Apply and click OK.
