Click on the Quikscribe Settings icon. 3. Select Settings tab, and click the folder next to the Profile path. 4. This will show the current path of your profile list. Open and Transcribe an Audio File
If you receive files through a network, you will be notified that a file is ready to be transcribed by the file Delivery Notification speaker in the top left hand corner of the Quikscribe Player interface. A green, red, or purple speaker indicates that a file is waiting to be transcribed. A yellow speaker indicates that no files are waiting to be transcribed. If you receive files through email, you may open the iaf file attached to the email or save the iaf file to the location from which you transcribe files. You may use either your headset or your speakers to listen to an audio file. To open and transcribe an audio file that you have received: 1. Open Quikscribe Player. 2. Click the Open a New Audio File icon. 3. A panel labeled Open Audio displays. Click your named folder in the Path Name box. If the computer is registered properly, but the license goes into demo mode when a new user signs on, you’ll need to set the QSPROFILE environment variable so that Quikscribe will know where to look for the registration details. For a business environment where users share a single computer, it’s necessary to define an environment variable in Windows so that Quikscribe Recorder or Player will behave properly using multiple Quikscribe user profiles with multiple Windows user profiles. Start Windows Control Panel Select System If Windows 7, select Advanced System Settings. If Windows XP, skip to step 4. Select the Advanced tab, then select Environment Variables Under the “System variables” section, select New: Enter “QSPROFILE” for Variable name Enter the network path name for Variable value where the profiles will be stored.
