If you connect your Quikscribe Downloader to send audio files, but the files were not received by your transcriptionist/typist, possible reasons are: A. Quikscribe Downloader's Device Settings is set to download files, instead of to send them. In order to fix this: Open Quikscribe Downloader and click Settings. Click Auto Display. Select Send All Selected Files in Quikscribe Recorder Integration dropdown menu. Click Save. If this is the cause of the missing file, they could be located in the Quikscribe Drafts folder in your computer. (C:\QsFiles\Drafts) In order to resend these files: Open Quikscribe Recorder and click the Open icon. Select Draft audio directory radio button. Select the file to resend. Click Open button. Importing Files from Portable Digital Recorders
The Quikscribe Recorder has integrated software and hardware drivers to support professional digital recorders from Philips, including the DPM 9600 model. However, just about any other digital recorder may be used if it can connect to the computer and be recognized as a “removable storage device” (with a drive letter such as E:, F:, G:, etc. The Quikscribe drivers provide a pop-up panel (the “Quikscribe Downloader” that displays the list of files on the recorder, and allows you to easily transfer the files to the Quikscribe Recorder or to the Quikscribe Player. When the recorder is connected to the PC using the USB cable or the docking cradle, the Quikscribe Downloader panel will appear, as in the following example: The process can be as simple as clicking the Select All button, and then the Transfer button. Display Quikscribe icons on task bar
Windows 7, 8 and 10 use a dynamic graphical icon for applications in the task bar, so QS Recorder can’t display the Record/Rewind/Play/FF actions in the task bar when the application is minimized. However, the system tray (on the right side of the bottom task bar) can display those functions if you pin the QSR icon to the bottom line using these steps: 1. Click the arrow in the system tray to display all the applications running in the system tray. 2. Select Customize. 3. Find the icon for QSR.exe in the list. Change the associated Behavior for QSR.exe to Show icon and notifications. Select Ok. The QSR icon will then display in the system tray area of the bottom task bar, and the icon will change display according to the action used in QSR (Record, Play, Rewind, FF). Video Explanation 4.
