This error message comes up from your system tray, because your File Completer is unable to send files to your network folder for Quikscribe. Normally, this is a permission level issue. In order to confirm, you can test changing the folders for Reports and Completed files from the network folder to your local drive (C:\\QSFiles path). To do so: Open Quikscribe Player and click Settings icon. Go to Settings tab and click the folder icon next to Completed Folder. Click the icon as shown below in order to browse folders from your computer. Go to this path -> Local Disk (C:) -> QsFiles -> Completed. Then click Ok. The path has now been changed as shown below. You'll have to do the same for the Reports Folder. Click the folder icon next to Reports Path as shown below. Click the icon as shown below. Go to this path -> Local Disk (C:) -> QsFiles -> Reports. This error comes up when you try to complete an audio file after transcribing. Things to try: A. Make sure that you have full access to the network folder. B. Change your Quikscribe Player's Completed and Reports folders to the Local Drive's directory. 1. Click Settings from the Quikscribe Player. 2. Go to Settings tab. 3. Change your Completed file location to the C drive's directory. In order to change it, click the folder icon and Browse to your local directory and select the folder. The folder is in the C:\QsFiles parent directory. 4. Change your Reports file location to the C drive's directory. Error: “Application-defined or object-defined error”
The error message looks something like below. It pops up when you start Quikscribe Player. The most common reason is that it is being blocked by your computer's anti-virus or security software. We suggest that you contact your IT person to put the Quikscribe folder (in the Program files) in the excluded or exception list. This will let your anti-virus/security software skip the Quikscribe files/applications when it does a computer scan. AVG Internet Security Click on the AVG icon from your system tray. Go to Options, and click Advanced Settings. Click Exceptions. Click Add Exception button. In the Select Exception Type menu, select Folder. Click Browse. Select the Quikscribe Folder (located C:\Program Files (x86)\Quikscribe or C:\Program Files\Quikscribe). Click Ok. Then OK again. Click Apply and click OK.
